Congratulations to Chloe Jackson who won Gold in the National Team Championships fighting for the Northern Home Counties. Chloe fighting in the -52kg category won all four of her fights, competing in the junior team. A great result for Chloe and now the D Band is back in the Nationals Chloe she is looking forward to the year ahead.
Also well done toJulianne Flory who was fighting in the Open weight for the London Senior Womens team, they took a 5th place. Julianne who has just come out of the junior section was against formidable players such as Simone Collander. Feed back is reassuring Julianne is making good progress.

- Bill Taylor - Senior club coach 5th Dan I started judo when I was 5, so I'm in my 45th year. Obtained my 1st Dan at 22 (lazy) 2nd Dan 1993 3rd Dan 2000 4th Dan 2003 5th Dan 2005 I started coaching at Ford judo club in 1984, there was only a junior class at that time. Slowly but surely over the years the numbers grew, some weeks there were 3 kids on the mat, Peter and Thomas Cousins and Stuart Stevenson who is now my assistant coach. Senior class has grown into a thriving mat with regular numbers of 30-40 players, mostly Dan grades. Start competing again in the Masters Championships, by accident really, went to three gradings and no other 2nd Dan's turned up, so cut a long story short entered the Masters to do the grading.. didn't do to bad so decided to do more… 4 National Gold's later, a bronze medal in the Europeans and gold in the Commonwealth Championships and a few other medals and placing's later I have not looked back.
